 Meet Pastor Emeritus Len Smith

 Pastor Len Smith began to minister at The Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship on November 1, 2002. Len is originally from Western Pennsylvania and his Brethren roots date back to 1774 when his 6th great grandfather was elected to the ministry of the Church of the Brethren in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.

 

He and his wife, Teresa, were married at Brandt’s Church of the Brethren in May 1974. She is an accomplished musician, and has taught Sunday school, and women’s Bible studies. Len and Teresa have two married sons and three grandchildren.

 

Pastor Len received his bachelor’s degree from Messiah College, Grantham, Pennsylvania, and his master’s degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Having also attended two Bible Institutes, he completed his ordination course work through the Bethany Academy in 1998.

 

His prior ministry experiences have included mission work, Christian bookstore management, and two pastorates. In addition, as a second career minister, Pastor Len had 23 years of public and private school teaching experience.

 

His hobbies include playing the accordion, researching family history, reading, amateur radio, hiking, camping, and kayaking.
